Southport always has a beautiful fireworks show on July 4th. Thirty thousand people crowd into downtown to watch. So we charter this cruise boat to come into our marina and pick up about 130 of us to cruise down the ICW to the Cape Fear River to watch the show from up close on the water. Bring your own drinks and snacks to share. Dancing on the top deck.
SSt James Plantation was alive all week. The beach club was swimming, the golf courses were hitting, the tennis courts were swinging the boaters were cruising and the fishermen were catching. So many kids and grandkids out having a great time with smiles on the faces of all us grandparents. That is me covered with sand.
Now is the time to catch Mahi-Mahi in our off shore waters. Four of us went on this charter and caught twenty one of these nice Mahi’s. My freezer is restocked. Do you think I can do it in my own boat?
This is the best time of the year to go fishing. I do promise my buyers three free fishing trips and I have made over five hundred trips off shore.
The Nina and Pinta showed up here close to Southport and St James. They were on the way to Wilmington to go on display for this week. Looks like a tough way to get from Spain to our new world!
These are actually replicas of Christopher Columbus’s ships. These floating museums visit ports around the world to educate the public on the history of the ships.
The Nina and the Pinta were hand selected by Columbus to make four transatlantic voyages over a 12-year period to open up a new world that people pretty much didn’t think existed,” Captain Stephen Sanger said. “You know, a lot of people(at the time) thinking the world is flat and going out there and proving the world is round.” Sanger is captain of the Nina.
Tickets are available to go onto the ship! It is located in Wilmington, NC which is just a short drive from St.James Plantation! This is one of the many events that happen in and around the area for everyone to enjoy!
I just got back from a fun fishing trip with two of my friends. We caught twelve of these beautiful 10 foot sails. We fished from a small boat and did everything ourselves, with only directions from the captain. Talk about fun!
